Our team of instructors and educational advisors is made up of professionals from different fields, sharing their knowledge to help you understand all the topics involved in quantifying financial risk due to climate change, and guiding your company on its way to sustainable growth.

Andy Garraway

Senior Climate Risk Modeller

Andy is responsible for our climate policy work: analyzing global climate policy developments and their implications, and translating that into actionable insights for our models and platform. Before joining Risilience, Andy was based in the Cabinet Office where he developed the negotiation strategy for the UK’s Presidency of COP26. Andy holds an MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy from SOAS, University of London. He also holds a BA (Hons) in German and Dutch and an MA in Town and Regional Planning, both from the University of Sheffield.

Oliver Carpenter

Director of Environmental Risk Analytics

Oliver Carpenter leads the Environmental Risks practice at Risilience, developing the models and science for business risk from climate change, integrating the work from our data scientists, subject matter researchers, and external specialists into quantitative models. Oliver works closely with clients to derive insights to senior management, generate reports for TCFD and other regulatory requirements, and to develop net-zero roadmaps for their business.

Jacob Barrett

Associate Product Manager

Jacob Barrett is an Associate Product Manager at Risilience, specializing in aiding clients to comprehend and adapt to climate-related business risks using advanced modeling products. With a solid foundation in Earth Sciences (MSci) from Durham University and experience in both field and lab geophysics, he possesses a comprehensive background in analyzing financial implications of corporate climate risks.

Danny Ralph

Chairman

As Chairman and a founder member of Risilience, Professor Daniel Ralph works closely with Risilience clients on managing change in their business to mitigate risk.

Danny is an authority on managing risk in business. He has published widely in his capacity as professor of Operations Research at University of Cambridge Judge Business School.

Laurence Smith

Director of Financial Services Analytics

Laurence is one of the directors of the modelling team with a focus on financial analytics. He leads the development of Risilience's financial services models and digital twin models. Laurence manages a team of 6 modellers. Prior to Risilience Laurence has over 20 years of modelling experience, and has a first class degree in Maths from the University of Oxford.

Scott Kelley

SVP - Model Development and Analytics

Dr. Scott Kelly is Senior Vice President and leads the model development team at Risilience. With a PhD in economics a Masters in sustainable development and a Bachelors degree in engineering he brings over 20 years of experience working across academia, government and the private sector in the fields of climate change and sustainable development. Prior to his role at Risilience he was an Associate Professor at the University of Technology Sydney and Chief Economic Advisor to the Parliamentary Commissioner in New Zealand. He has authored over two dozen publications and was an early pioneer exploring how different climate-related risks will impact business.

Dr. Richard Newton

Climate Risk Modeller

Dr. Richard Newton is a climate analyst at Risilience, specializing in physical risk. Richard's background is in Atmospheric Science, completing a Ph.D. in tropical atmospheric chemistry in 2017, and a postdoctoral position focused on satellite measurements of the atmosphere from 2018 to 2020.

Tamara Evan

Senior Product Manager

Tamara Evan is a Senior Product Manager at Risilience, having worked with the team since its origins at the University of Cambridge Centre for Risk Studies. In her role on the Product team, Tamara leads new feature development from scoping and testing to completion while maintaining a user-focused approach, and is involved in communicating new functionality and value to a wide array of stakeholders.

Emily Mack

Lead - Client Solutions

Emily Gardner is the UK Client Solutions Lead at Risilience, overseeing timely, quality project delivery for lasting client relationships. With a background in Sustainability and ESG reporting, she brings valuable expertise to resilient business strategy and project management. Emily has a BSc in Economics from the University of Reading and is an IEMA Practitioner.

Rob Hardie

Client Implementation Specialist

Robert Hardie is a seasoned Client Solutions Specialist at Risilience, where he leverages his expertise in sustainability to develop and implement strategic projects. With a strong foundation in academic research, including a Ph.D. focused on public-private partnerships in carbon sequestration, Robert is adept at fostering cross-sector collaborations for sustainable development.

Joe Murgo

Client Implementation Specialist

Joe Murgo is a senior member of the client solutions team based out of Pennsylvania in the United States. He graduated with B.S. in Meteorology from the Pennsylvania State University and has decades of experience with meteorology, climate science, and communications. He still teaches this to students at the Pennsylvania State University.

Natalie Doyle

Customer Support Analyst

Natalie is a customer support specialist, working with all our customers to enable their understanding and usage of our platform. She is the first point of call for Risilience Academy and would love to hear from you if you have any thoughts on how to make this a better, more effective resource.
